App running slowly or crashing

90% of the time it's stale cache, an old browser, or weak signal. Try these in order.

Mowzey is a web app — there's nothing to install, but that means your browser does a lot of the work. When things feel slow or pages crash, it's almost always one of a small number of fixable causes. Work through the checks below before emailing support; you'll usually solve it in 2 minutes.

Fast fixes (try these first)

1
Hard refresh the page. On Mac: Cmd+Shift+R. On Windows: Ctrl+Shift+R. On phones: pull down on the page to refresh. This clears the cached JavaScript and grabs the latest version of the app.
2
Close other tabs. If you have 30+ tabs open in your browser, you're competing for memory. Close the ones you're not actively using. The Schedule Builder in particular is memory-hungry because of the Mapbox map.
3
Update your browser. Chrome, Safari, Edge, and Firefox all release security and performance updates regularly. Mowzey is tested on the current and previous version of each. If you're 3+ versions behind, you'll see flakiness.
4
Restart your device. Especially on phones — apps and OS background tasks accumulate over days. A reboot clears them out and frees memory.

On mobile specifically

  • Use the latest version of your browser. iOS users: update Safari via the App Store (Settings → General → Software Update for the OS itself). Android: update Chrome via the Play Store.
  • Add Mowzey to your home screen. Open app.mowzey.com → Share → Add to Home Screen. It opens full-screen, runs faster, and feels like a native app without the install.
  • Check your signal. Slow loading is often "no signal" pretending to be "slow app". Switching from cellular to WiFi (or vice versa) fixes a surprising number of mystery slowness complaints.

If it's consistently slow on one page

If everything else is fine but one specific page is always slow, tell us which page. Common culprits and their typical causes:

  • Schedule Builder: map rendering takes the most resources. Slow on older devices.
  • Invoices list: if you have thousands of invoices, the list page can lag. We're working on better pagination.
  • Customers list: same — thousands of customers will be slower than a few hundred.

Filtering is faster than scrolling

On big lists, use the search box or status filter at the top rather than scrolling. The page renders fewer rows and feels snappier.

If it's still broken after all this

Email support@mowzey.com with:

  • What you were doing when it broke
  • Browser and device (e.g., "Chrome on iPhone 13")
  • The URL that's slow or crashing
  • Screenshot of any error message

We can check our server-side error logs and tell you whether it's an issue on our end or yours.
