How do I get paid?
Customer card → Stripe → your bank. Mowzey doesn't hold your money; you do.
Mowzey uses Stripe Connect direct charges: when a customer pays an invoice, the money lands in your Stripe account immediately, not in Mowzey's. You get paid on Stripe's payout schedule, the same as any other business that uses Stripe directly.
When does the money arrive?
Two events to track: the charge (customer's card goes through) and the payout (Stripe sends the funds to your bank).
- Charge: happens the moment the customer pays. Instant.
- Payout: Stripe batches your charges and deposits them to your bank, usually within 2 business days for established accounts. New accounts often have a 7-day rolling reserve while Stripe builds trust.
You can see both events in your Stripe dashboard at dashboard.stripe.com. Mowzey also shows weekly payouts under Payouts in the main nav.
What fees come out?
Two fees apply to every card payment:
- Stripe processing fee: ~2.9% + $0.30 per transaction. Comes out of your balance, not the customer's payment. This is Stripe's fee, not Mowzey's.
- Mowzey platform fee: Flat $3 per invoice, added to the customer's invoice total (so the customer pays it, not you).
Don't want to eat the Stripe fee?
What about cash, check, or Zelle?
You can mark an invoice as paid manually with cash, check, Zelle, or "other". No Stripe fee (because no card is involved). The $3 Mowzey platform fee is still recorded on the invoice for your records, but it's "forfeited" — Mowzey doesn't collect it on off-platform payments.
Open the invoice → ⋮ → "Mark as Paid" → pick the payment method.
