Managing notifications
Pick which email alerts Mowzey sends you. Toggles are per-user, so each teammate controls their own inbox.
Mowzey sends notifications by email only right now (no SMS, no push). Each user on your team has their own notification preferences in Settings → Notifications. This article lists every notification type, what triggers it, and which ones you can turn off.
Where to find notification settings
Open Settings from the avatar menu in the bottom left of the app, then click Notifications in the sidebar. Each row shows a notification type and a toggle. Flipping a toggle saves immediately, no separate save button.
Notifications go to the email on your profile. If you change your login email (see Updating your profile), notifications automatically follow.
Money notifications
These are the alerts most owners keep on, because they tell you when cash is moving.
- New invoice paid. A customer's card or bank account successfully charged. Includes the customer name, amount, and a link to the invoice.
- Quote accepted. A customer clicked Accept on a quote you sent. Their card is now on file and the linked job is scheduled.
- Weekly payout deposited. Stripe sent a payout to your bank. Email arrives within a few hours of the deposit hitting and shows the net amount.
Operations notifications
These cover day-to-day field work.
- Job completed. A crew member marked a job as done. Useful for owners who don't run a crew themselves and want a heads-up before the invoice goes out.
If you're the one out in the field doing the work, this one is usually noise. Turn it off and you'll never get self-emails about jobs you just completed.
Critical alerts (always on)
A handful of alerts can't be turned off. They cover situations where missing the email could cost you money.
- Failed customer payment. A charge was declined or a bank account returned the debit. Sent to every owner and admin on the account.
- Stripe payout issue. Stripe paused or reversed a payout — usually because of a verification request or a chargeback. You'll want to fix this fast or future payouts stay paused.
- Low Stripe balance. Your connected Stripe balance dipped below the amount needed to cover pending refunds. Sent to owners only.
Why these can't be silenced
Tuning your inbox
A typical setup that keeps the signal high:
- Solo operator: leave everything on. Volume is low and you'll want every data point.
- Owner with a 1-2 person crew: turn off Job completed. Keep money alerts on.
- Crew member: turn off all the money alerts. Keep Job completed off too — you don't need to email yourself. Critical alerts don't go to crew anyway.
You can change any of this at any time. Toggling a notification doesn't delete history — the email log on your Stripe dashboard always shows what actually fired.
