Updating your profile

View your name, email, and phone in Mowzey at Settings → Profile. Edits happen in the Clerk Account Portal — link below.

Your profile is the personal slice of your account: name, login email, phone, and password. Mowzey shows this info on the Settings → Profile page as a read-only view, and uses Clerk for the actual editing. Anything company-wide (business name, logo, reply-to address) lives in Settings → Business instead.

Where to find profile settings

Sign in to app.mowzey.com, click your avatar in the top right, then choose Settings. In the left sidebar of the settings page, pick Profile.

You'll see your current first/last name, email, and phone. These are read-only on this page. To change any of them, open the Clerk Account Portal — see the next section.

Why Mowzey uses Clerk for profile edits

Clerk handles the security-sensitive parts of accounts (password hashing, verification emails, multi-factor auth, session management) so we don't have to. The tradeoff: profile edits happen on Clerk's hosted page rather than in the main Mowzey UI.

How to actually edit name, email, phone, or password

Open the Clerk Account Portal at accounts.mowzey.com. You'll need to be signed in (same login as Mowzey). The portal gives you a single page where you can:

  • Change your first or last name.
  • Add or change your email address. Clerk sends a verification code to the new address; you paste it back to confirm.
  • Add or change your phone number (also verified by code).
  • Change your password (you'll need your current one), or use "Forgot password" on the sign-in page if you're locked out.
  • Set up multi-factor auth.
  • See active sessions and sign out of other devices.

Changes take effect immediately. Mowzey picks up the new values the next time you load the app (or you can refresh).

Verify the new email before saving

If you change your login email, make sure you can receive mail at the new address before you start the change. If the verification code never arrives and you've already locked yourself out, email support@mowzey.com and we can help recover the account.

What each field is used for

Quick reference for why each field matters:

  • First and last name appear on your avatar inside the Mowzey app and as the sender on outgoing quotes and invoices (when the template includes a sender name). Use the name a customer would expect to see in their inbox.
  • Login email is what you use to sign in to Mowzey. Changing it changes your login. It's also the default reply-to address on customer emails unless you've set a separate business email in Settings → Business.
  • Phone number is optional. Used for account-recovery codes if you're locked out of your email, and to show in the team directory so crew can reach you in the field. Customers never see your personal phone — they see the business phone from Settings → Business.
  • Password never leaves Clerk. Mowzey never sees or stores it.

What teammates can see

If you have crew or admins on the team, here's exactly what they see from your profile:

  • Owners and admins see your name, email, phone, role, and the date you joined.
  • Crew members see only your name and role. They don't see your email or phone.
  • Nobody on the team sees your password, your billing history, or your refund status.

For more on roles and what each one can do, see Account & Settings.
